MISSION

To make the Oral Pathology department a stalwart in academics, clinical research and patient Care.

SHORT TERM GOALS

  1. To come up with innovative learning and hybrid teaching methods, to enhance student-centric learning, optimized for individual students.
  2. To create scope for Observatory internships for students in higher research centers.
  3. To develop an Oral Pathology Museum for better comprehension of the subjects in students and to enhance awareness in patients.
  4. To come up with an updated version of the e-magazine (“Plexure”) annually.
  5. To publish 20 Research Papers in indexed journals.
  6. To increase by 25% the number of scientific presentations of students in state and national level conferences.
  7. To apply for 5 funded projects.
  8. To publish a comprehensive textbook by February 2024.
  9. Further development of Oral Cancer Detection and Prevention Cell with the incorporation of advanced pre-cancer detection methods and patient-centered care which is comprehensive and customized to their individual needs.
  10. Collaboration with an oral cancer center.
  11. Extension of research activities of Tobacco cessation cells and to conduct anti-tobacco awareness programs in more than 25 schools and colleges in the locality.
  12. To develop an Oral Palliative Care Unit.
  13. To conduct a state-level specialty conference in March 2023.
  14. To increase the number of outreach programs and social awareness programs as part of World Cancer Day and World No Tobacco Day

LONG TERM GOALS

  1. Develop a Research Centre incorporating IHC, Cell Culture, PCR, and Oral Microbiology lab.
  2. Door to Door Cancer Screening and Awareness in 25 villages.
  3. Collaborate with the Forensic Medicine Centre and start a Forensic Wing in the Department.
