‘Say No to Oral Cancer’ is an ongoing flagship community outreach project of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences (IGIDS), Kothamangalam, in association with the Rotary Club of Perumbavoor Central (RCPC). The project was launched on 13th August 2013 with an MoU.
Focusing on all levels of prevention and all sections of society, and multisectoral approach. We have associated with schools and colleges, resident’s associations, factories, professional organizations, NGOs, and Government establishments for screening and creating awareness.
The rotary club of Perumbavoor Central, having a wide acceptance among the community for community service initiatives, serves as the golden link between the population and the institution.

The departments of Public Health Dentistry, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, and Oral Surgery were at the forefront in executing the project with the constant support of all the departments.

Various Methods of creating cancer awareness were used to reach out to various sections of society including classes, videos, rallies, flash mobs, street plays, skits, campaigns, oath-taking, etc. We observed various important health days every year including World No tobacco day, World cancer day, etc with a range of activities.
